• 70 crews set out in first round of National Offroading Championship, the Free Dacians Trophy

70 crews took to the start line of the first round of the National Offroading Championship, the Free Dacians Trophy, a competition hosted by the Slanic Moldova resort that was organized under the banner of the Romanian Sports Driving Federation and the National Offroading Commission of Romania.

“Offering the possibility to as many enthusiasts and tourists to take part, for three days, in the challenges of offroading, the Free Dacians Trophy featured courses for the Extreme, Open and Standard classes but also a special class, Hobby, dedicated to those who have 4×4 vehicles in commercial form, but have not yet tested the vehicle’s performance in a competition, the class registering, much to our surprise, 15 crews,” said, on Monday evening, for AGERPRES, Romeo Andries, the director of the competition.

According to him, “in accordance with the title of the trophy [e.n. — referencing the ancient Dacian people who did not come under Roman rule], the competitors proved powerful and daring, proving both skill and intelligence in driving their vehicles on extremely difficult courses in areas with no road signage or through the waters of the Slanic river.” More…
